The site has a new address: works.tools. Old is.tools links keep working and forward here automatically, with the same page and language.
New: a blog — eight articles on the formats and mechanics behind everyday file jobs (what HEIC is, JPG vs WebP vs AVIF with measured sizes, getting a PDF under a size limit, why a video plays sideways, Base64 vs encryption, and more), in English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Remove background handles hair edges better: the alpha now follows individual strands and the old background colour mixed into edge pixels is removed, so there is no pale halo on dark or transparent backgrounds.
PDF Sign gains a paging seal: one seal image is cut into vertical strips, one per page at the right edge, the same height on every page; long documents can be sealed in groups. A selected signature or seal now shows its real width and height in mm, live while resizing, and the numbers can be typed in.
Home page redesigned: search box and category shortcuts up top with the latest changes beside them; each category opens with a short paragraph on what its tools do; popular tools in a side column.
Added a message form on the Contact page; each submission gets a reference number.
New: Text Compare shows every difference between two texts or files, side by side or unified, with word-level highlighting.
New: Trim Video keeps one section of a video, fast without re-encoding or exact to the frame.
New: Video to Image — save any frame of a video as a full-resolution image.
Add Page Numbers to PDF now takes Cyrillic, Chinese, Japanese and Greek templates.
